How can people NOT want to play at PKR? - Tue 4th December 2007 @ 12:14 pm
The only thing I can think of is that people are happy with the familiar - i.e. In their flat rooms, where they've been for years, and don't want to change old habits or learn anything new.
Maybe it's because there's a shitload of players that you can disappear into and still be anonymous every time you play. No-one knows who you are or how you play - or even pays attention - so you can use the same technique, unchanged, winning over and over again from people who don't really understand the game or are tilting.
To be fair, in poker rooms with that many people, a lot of unpredictable behaviour comes around all the time so the most profitable technique will probably be to just play the maths. But fuckin' hell, is that boring or what? That's what bots are for..
The difference with PKR is that 9 times out of 10 the unpredictable behaviour becomes predictable because idiots with chips can't help being idiots with characters, actions, timing of bets etc. And it's really noticeable - like in live games which are even better still..
If you've played a reasonable amount of poker, how can you not think that PKR builds on and improves online poker? It's like live play with a perfect poker face..
I really want someone who plays at a flat room, for reasons other than "cos everyone else does", to tell me what I'm missing cos I really don't get it.. |
