Fed Up Of Fishes!!!! - Wed 9th July 2008 @ 4:34 pm I know that a lot of people come to PKR to learn to play, I came for the game playing experience. I am a tournament player and don't play the internet for cash, only for fun. But I am sick to death of players who sit down at tournaments and go all in on the first hand. Some players do it with good, suitable hands. But the majority go in with Q 5 off suit or something stupid like that. I have seen it to the extreme of someone going all in on 7 2 off suit.

As I write this I am playing and another player has gone in on A 2 off from under the gun! Another guy called him with a much better hand (A 10(h)) and lost because the guy caught a lucky 2 on the turn when he should have rightly lost.

I make a point of throwing away my first hand pre-flop, even if it is probably the best hand (unless its like QQ,KK,AA,KA) because these people get lucky and then think they are great players.

So my plea is this, to all the fishes and beginners to the game, please go and read up some on how the basics of poker. Thats all you need to play for fun on the net. Some of us like to have a serious game and you would have a lot more fun, not to mention wins, if you knew the basics.

I am by no means slandering anyone personally, if you don't agree with me then that is fine, I respect your opinion, but don't slander or insult me on here for having mine. Hope to see you around the tables soon
