Full Tilt vs. PKR - Speed vs. Agility?Posted by majc on 6 September 2007 |

Pros telling you to play at Full Tilt: 64 Amateur mid-limiters telling you to play at PKR: 1 I've been playing Full Tilt recently to see if anything's changed or I'm missing something.
But Full Tilt gets 10/10 for quantity.. Never short of games You can play up to 4 tables at PKR though and Full Tilt is a top quality pancake room so which do you choose? I've clearly chosen PKR so you might - rightfully - expect this to be biased but after a week back at Full Tilt, I know why I've chosen PKR.. Where to play your poker depends How do you get your edge over the competition? If you get it by recognising styles / characters, using your image as much as your cards and constantly adapting, PKR's got to be for you. If you're better at playing into the anonymity of online play, grinding away, waiting for and making the most of dominant situations, it works better at Full Tilt. How so? PKR builds perfectly on the first style with all the added information and control - avatars, actions, show-one wins / folds etc.. And it can poke serious holes in the more formulaic approach to the game taken by many Full Tilt middle-stakers. I'm talking $0.10/$0.25 through $1/$2 - I didn't play the others so can't comment. As with live poker - a further step up - emotions seem to run wilder at PKR and they can throw you or your opponents off a gameplan instantly. That's really what makes and keeps the game interesting. The money helps too.. Full tilt's 27% rakeback isn't bad but these PKR bonus codes give you more with 30% rakeback as well as the regular bonus. Speed vs. Agility? Full Tilt is about speed. If you avoid a confrontation by folding, there's another hand in front of you before you can say "30% rakeback? That's more than the 27 I get from FT.." PKR adds half-seconds to hands in between streets as the dealer puts the card(s) out. I know devout Full Tilters who've told me "that shit adds up" and yeah it does, but not to very much so who gives a fart? People pay more attention when there's Which doesn't mean a lot so I'll explain.. At PKR, your table image actually is an image.. and it's watched more closely. You need a dynamic game to stay ahead - sticking to one water-tight strategy isn't as effective at PKR. Lock-down poker isn't impossible but there's more pressure because, for sure, everyone round the table's tuned into it. Full Tilt's the opposite. It rockets you through hands with nothing but the two cards in front of you. One water-tight strategy is the best option, especially with 3, 4 or 6 tables open. It's hypnotic.. Great news for 64 Full Tilt stakeholders.. The cards control the action more at Full Tilt - there's much less player-playing. PKR seems to squeeze out the squeezers - The more prominent player element apparently makes mechanical decisions more difficult. Just like in live games.. bizarre..? Oh, and the multi-tabling at PKR is outstanding. You should try it. |
